Charles Bean’s war

In fact Charles, you were quite annoyed about this column and Ellis's general style of reporting. Can you elaborate for us?

Charles Bean liked to get amongst the troops as is evident in his diary account of the landing (.docx 528kB) on Turkish soil. He tried, whenever it was possible, to tell it how it happened. To him there was a serious question mark on the credibility of Ashmead-Bartlett's (.docx 528kB) writing and in particular his recount of the Gallipoli landing.
