Using the NSW Literacy continuum K-10

Years and stages – text version

Screen 1

The heading displays the text Years and stages.

A text box displays the text The continuum is organised differently for different stages of learning, because the nature of learning changes over time.

School years are found along the top of the continuum. This indicates how most students will progress through their years of schooling.

The learning within each cluster of markers becomes increasingly complex and specialised as student learning becomes more skilled in literacy.

On the bottom right-hand corner there is a button ‘Next’, which when clicked activates the next screen.

On the subsequent screens two buttons are available ‘Next and ‘Prev’. Activating the ‘Prev’ button reverts to the previous screen. On the final screen, the ‘Prev’ only is available.
