In Mathematics, literacy has naturally the particular purpose of understanding and evaluating in a mathematical context using the metaphorical language of that subject and it extends to interpreting information. The modes of communication that are used in Mathematics to be able to understand and evaluate syllabus content include listening, reading and viewing, writing, speaking and creating.
