Petitions

Making a petition and collecting signatures is a great way to get support for your cause.

A petition is a request for action. Perhaps the petition is appealing for a policy or a law to be changed. It may call for action to be taken in a certain area. The more signatures you have the more effect your petition will have, as it will be more representative of public feeling.

If you would like to have your petition submitted to the local council or parliament, then you must follow certain formats. The NSW Parliament sets this out on their website. The Federal Parliament also has some guidelines at their website.
