Ronelle: I became interested in politics when the decision was made to close the
Forensic Medicine Department at Westmead Hospital.
And the reason for that was I felt that I needed to express my thoughts on why it
shouldn't have been closed.
I was working at the morgue, I was a forensic technician
and I was there for eight years.
I assisted the medical practitioner with autopsies,
deaths that are reported to the coroner which could be murders, suicides
suspicious cases, car accidents, anything that is not a natural death so to speak.
So, I was eviscerating, taking body organs out and assisting with the cause of death.
I loved what I was doing because it was very exciting,
it's amazing how really the dead can tell you stories.
