SALT Bush Tour

Our SALT Bush Tour was a big hit again this year. Our female tradies visited 10 schools and gave the girls hands on experience using tools to create a wooden box. They also mentored the girls about balancing working and family life regardless of their chosen career.

SALT has federal funding to run workshops in schools in 2018. To ask them to come to your school email Fi Shewring at saltaustralia@gmail.com.

Helping you identify potential SBAT students

Teachers asked us to help them identify students who might be interested in doing a School-Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship (SBAT) as a result of completing the Student Pathways Survey. This is what we have done!

In your staff portal select My applications then Student Pathways Survey: School Administration. Here you will find a drop-down menu that allows you to search for students intending to seek an apprenticeship or traineeship when they leave school. They are candidates who may be interested in an SBAT.

It is wonderful to see schools using the Student Pathways Survey/Plan and associated resources. Some quick data for Term 1 2018:
  • 3,770 students completed the survey in 81 schools across all operational directorates.
  • 521 students accessed the plan in 28 schools across all operational directorates.
