Write an exposition

Write an exposition

Using Google Docs or Microsoft Word, write a draft exposition presenting your opinion on a topic you feel strongly about, such as the use of animals in experiments, genetic engineering or sporting drug cheats.

Make sure you use evidence to support the points that you make.

The interactive essay map (requires a browser with Flash) and the language features of expositions (.PDF 409KB) can help you plan and write your exposition.

The exposition checklist (.DOCX 16KB) will help you to check your work.

When you have completed your exposition, post it to a blog for others to comment on. Your teacher will set up a class blog for you to post your work to and provide you with the link to the blog.

After you have posted your exposition, use Google Forms or Microsoft Forms to create a survey for your classmates to respond to on your topic. For example, you could find out how many people agree with your argument and how many agree with the course of action you have suggested. Collate the responses and add them to your blog entry.
