Some roles and responsibilities:

Researcher – this is a task for everyone! Divide your research questions amongst the group.

Facilitator/Encourager – starts and maintains discussion

Recorder/Secretary – takes notes of the discussions

Checker/Summarizer – confirms everyone’s understanding, summarises where group is up to and checks the presentation for accuracy

Language detective (Years 7–8) – finds the key Japanese words related to the topic

Language users (Years 9–10) – writes and ask the interview questions in Japanese

Presentation developer – everyone should have a role in developing the presentation!

Spokesperson/Presenter – shows and explains creation to the class. This should be shared by several or all members.

Time-keeper (optional) – monitors time and keeps group on task for completion (only needed for more complicated presentations)
