Letter dated 1/6/1918 sent to Frederick's next of kin about his injury.

AIF letter dated 1/6/18 to Frederick's next of kin about his injury. From Frederick’s service record.

Frederick’s service records show that he was placed as reinforcement in the 1st Field Company Engineers (1 FCE). The diaries for 1st Field Company Engineers are listed in date order. Frederick’s service records show that he was wounded 8 May 1918.

The war diary for May 1918 notes the company is in Pradelles near Hazebrouck in France, at this time. The entry for the 8 May is very brief noting no new (engineering) works and that one soldier was wounded at Le Roukloshille. This information matches Frederick’s service record.
