To make your artwork:

  1. Collect images or take photos of the landscape.

  2. Use the images or photos as a reference and make a drawing of the landscape on a large sheet of art paper. Work quickly, focusing on the lines, shapes and patterns you see.

  3. Consider the senses, mood or emotion that you want to express in your work. Think about the artists’ methods your group studied and use these to help you with this.

  4. Look back at the artworks in your group Art Set and consider whether your work will be realistic or more abstract.

  5. Discuss your ideas with your group. Ask for their feedback.

  6. Using your drawing as a guide and your chosen technique/s and style, paint your artwork trying to capture senses, mood or emotion.

Let your painting dry then add details to enhance your work using media of your choice. Consider such things as:

  • symbols

  • colour

  • pattern

  • texture

  • lines and shapes

  • shading.
