The book could be divided into a number of sections such as the:

• Title page which states the book title, subtitle (if there is one), author/s and illustrator/s names, the publisher and their location and the date of publishing. It often includes decorative visual elements

• Foreword which is a short introduction to a book usually written by someone other than the author/s. The person writing the foreword has the task of introducing the book and its authors

• Preface which is written by the author/s and tells of how the book came to be written and gives a brief description of the book. It helps to capture the readers’ interest and make them want to read more

• Acknowledgments page where you can thank people who helped you with the production of the book.
