Hybrid cars
A hybrid car has a petrol motor and an electric motor. The computer built into the car chooses whether the car will run on petrol or electricity or both. Big batteries are recharged at certain times by the car’s momentum, most often when it is braking. Some hybrid vehicles use half the amount of petrol an equivalent normal car uses over the same distance. Examples of hybrid cars are the Toyota Prius, the Honda Civic Hybrid, and the Holden Volt. |
