This is not a hole but rather a thinning of the amount of ozone.

Blue area

In the blue area there is more ozone. This is important for the reduction in ultraviolet radiation that reaches the surface.

The green area

The green area has more ozone.

Size of the ozone hole

The ozone hole has been getting bigger over the last 40 years as CFCs have been destroying the ozone. These products are now banned and hopefully in the years to come the ozone hole will decline.
