Investigating Pompeii and Herculaneum

Investigating Pompeii and Herculaneum is a resource for the Ancient History Year 12 mandatory topic. It provides a framework for developing historical knowledge, with images of sites and artefacts, interactive site maps, videos, readings, a glossary, resource lists and links to virtual tours and animations. Exploring Persepolis

Exploring Persepolis addresses the NSW Ancient History syllabus outcomes for the study of Persepolis in Stage 6. It has sections for research using location maps, a timeline, site history and site tour. Support for teachers includes assessment and a final task.

Research Zone: Senior History

Research Zone: Senior History is a resource for students conducting research for Senior History that outlines stages of the historical research process in four parts. It provides guidance on the steps involved in defining, locating and selecting, organising, and presenting research. Each part includes guides notes, examples and samples, and video interviews with historians Peter FitzSimons and William Dalrymple that help elucidate aspects of historical research and writing. Activities and mindmaps, topic ideas, links to other resources and the means for students to evaluate progress provide a clear focus to the work of research.
