Most Australian education systems have firewalls that prevent some types of connections.
Participation in the Particle physics with the masters at ATLAS CERN through DART Connections will allow you to participate from anywhere in the world even though your education system has a firewall. The virtual visit via DART Connections requires you to use one of the following videoconferencing units:
-
Polycom
-
Tandberg/Cisco
If your students are undertaking this resource they have been asked to remind you to register as soon as possible with DART connections which is free—see the video 'How to register' on the HELP page.
If you are undertaking this resource on your own as an individual:
-
From rural or remote Australia and you can access a nearest public school, you may be granted permission from the principal of the school to use their in-school videoconferencing unit which will be one the necessary types.
-
If you can gain this permission, email enquiries@dartconnections.org.au for advice about joining as a rural or remote individual or complete their ENQUIRY FORM.
-
-
But do not have access to Polycom or Tandberg/Cisco follow the instructions at ATLAS Experiment virtual visits. You can continue to use this resource and participate in the data analysis. Your virtual visits will simply take place at a different time.
When you or your teacher group are/is committed to participating in the Particle physics with the masters at ATLAS CERN make a booking at least two weeks before the visit is scheduled—video 'How to Book an Excursion' on the HELP page. Students will be asked to remind you when they begin the data analysis.
