Thalgarrah EEC study programs include investigations of woodlands and wetlands, Aboriginal studies, studies of birds, plants and soils. Sustainability of technological choices are also addressed through programs such as Simple Machines and Switched On.

The EEC offers Earth Education activities such as Munch Line Monitors and the Earth Education-based program Spaceship Earth. There are special programs for Kindergarten such as Teddy Bears’ Picnic and the EEC also caters for fieldwork requirements for Stage 4 geography and Stage 6 biology studies.

As well as conducting studies with students visiting Thalgarrah, staff are available to accompany school groups in neighbouring national parks and reserves. The EEC offers consultancy services that include professional learning in Education for Sustainability and preparation of Environmental Management Plans for schools.
