TaLe has a unit of work written for high schools, but also of potential use by either primary school students or teachers called Student Research Project. The sections ‘The report’ and ‘Report Scaffold’ are particularly useful and the scaffold could be used directly by students. The section titled ‘Collecting’ also provides information about preparing diagrams and drawings.

Interactive Science Games and Revision is a website that has lots of science activities. Some can be used as resources for sample texts such as the explanation of day and night.

Text tip cards available on the TaLe website (DET only) are a useful resource for writing the full range of text types.DET has links to The Learning Federation which has a range of resources called Fix the Mix-up such as the conference on in which students are required to make corrections to a slide presentation to produce a procedural text and an information report. TaLe (DET only) also has links to a set of resources for ESL students, such as Solar and Lunar Eclipse with explanation texts that support the teaching of grammar.
