Create a survey to find out what others know

Another way of gathering information is to find out what the people around you know or think. Creating a survey could be a mandatory part of your project or your team might decide to do this on their own.

Start by getting each team, or each person within your team, to write five questions for people outside your classroom. Save them into a document in your Google Drive or OneDrive folder.

  1. Share the document with the other members of your team or the other teams in your class.

  2. As a group pool all the questions and eliminate duplicates. Choose the best 10 questions and create one survey.

  3. Send the link to at least 20 people outside the class and ask them to complete the survey.

    1. What do the results tell about people’s understanding of the facts about refugees?

    2. What common misunderstandings are revealed?

    3. From what you have learned from the survey, what other items may be needed in your kit?
