Experiment

Flowchart showing the movement from protoype to final product creation

Step 1: Create a couple of prototypes of your team’s chosen idea.

  • This means drawing a rough diagram of your item

  • AND/OR creating a storyboard for your item showing the progression of ideas or images

  • Use paper and pencils, be prepared to rub things out or change ideas

  • Take pictures of your work and upload them to your shared space to save your ideas

Step 2: Get feedback on your prototypes from a few different groups.

  • Can you explain your idea?

  • Does your audience feel or understand what you wanted to communicate?

  • Be open to their ideas, try to stay neutral, be ready to make changes or even start from scratch

Step 3: Choose the prototype that will become your final product. Create a list of specific tasks needed to complete your item.

  • Assign tasks to different people and set deadlines for completion

  • Update your project planner with the new tasks

Step 4: Work out what you need to complete your item

  • What software will you use?

  • What devices (eg. iPad, video camera, sewing machine) are available?

  • Do you need supplies like material, paper, or props and costumes?

Step 5: Start work on the creation process!

Step 6: Get ready to present your nearly complete project to the class for feedback.
