Students may use the sites to:

• recognise the importance of sustainable living and sustainable development for the future health of the planet

• relate sustainability issues to their own lives and way of living

• calculate their ecological footprint and identify ways to minimise it

• learn about biodiversity and the interdependence of all living things

• consider the role of individuals, organisations, corporations and government in achieving sustainability

• identify ways to act locally to address global issues

• view and read about successful programs, in Australia and in other countries, working towards sustainability

• persuade others to take responsibility to address climate change, deforestation, recycling and waste disposal, energy and land use.
