Every day in Public Schools across New South Wales, teachers and their students are doing amazing things with technology. As the Chief Information Officer (CIO) in charge of the Department's Information Technology Directorate, I am excited to be able to announce the 2019 Technology for Learning (T4L) Awards - a program designed to recognise this cutting-edge work happening in our schools.

2019 Winners have been announced. Click here to see them all!

What are the T4L awards?

These awards will recognise and celebrate leading and innovative practice in the use of technologies by a NSW public school. Leading schools in each of the areas will not only be inspiring and leading change within their own school community, but ideally will also be participating in online and/or physical communities of practice, sharing their expertise. They are collaboratively supporting teachers to develop the skills of the profession and inspire organisation-wide change. Also, check our 2018 T4L Award winners!

What are the award categories?

Schools will be recognised for their leadership, innovation and achievement across ten categories including ICT, Robotics, Productivity & Collaboration, Learning Tools and many more. Both primary and secondary schools will be recognised as part of this program. How do you apply?

Schools can nominate themselves in any of the listed categories by completing the online form linked within each award page. Entrants will need to complete a brief questionnaire and submit a video that outlines and demonstrates howr their school exhibits excellence and innovation in the category selected. Entries need to be submitted by Friday, 31 May 2019 to be eligible for assessment. Your video presentation must be less than 3 minutes in duration and should showcase the elements featured in your application. It can be presented as traditional filming, animation, still photography or any combination and must be uploaded to and shared from a DoE YouTube account (published as unlisted rather than live). Winners of a category from previous years are ineligible for winning the same award.

How are winners selected?

The winners will be announced at the CIO's Technology in Schools Conference on 16 August, 2019.
