Create a group artwork that is inspired by von Sturmer’s work, The Object of Things (Sequence 2) but is very different.
Talk about:
-
the shape that was repeated
-
the size of the shape
-
how the shapes move onto the screen and overlap causing changes
-
the use of three colours only
-
the white background
-
the absence of sound.
In a small group, plan an artwork that is different to von Sturmer’s but has a repeated moving shape. Using Microsoft PowerPoint you could:
-
repeat a shape that is not a square (Insert tab>Shapes)
-
change the size of the shapes (click on the shape and drag the sizing handle in the bottom right corner)
-
use three colours but not red, yellow or blue (click on the shape, Home>Fill drop-down menu)
-
make the shapes move onto the screen in a different way (Animations>Add Animation>Entrance Effects)
-
use a coloured background (Design>Background styles>Format Background)
-
add sound (Animation Pane>right click the animation>Effect Options>Sound)
Decide on features for your work.
Use Microsoft PowerPoint to make a group artwork that includes the decided features:
-
Create a blank slide in a new PowerPoint document and select a background colour (Design>Background Styles>Format Background).
-
Insert a shape (Insert>Shapes) and then copy it. Paste the shape several times to create as many shapes as you want (about ten).
-
Resize the shapes and arrange them on the slide.
-
Apply the chosen Entrance animation to each shape in the order you want them to appear (Animation>Add Animation menu )
-
Set each animation to Start After Previous in the Animation Pane (Animations tab).
-
Apply the chosen sound effect to all animations (right click and select Effect Options).
-
Set each animation to Start After Previous (Animation Pane).
Play the animation to review your work and check that it meets the agreed specifications.
