Waterworks

Water works is a Middle Years multimedia learning resource on the theme of water in four sections, each addressing a different KLA: English, Geography, Science and Visual Arts. Students learn about the water cycle and the properties of water, look at geographical research around the issue of water, explore persuasive texts using authentic Sydney Water texts, and work towards creating a sculpture on the theme of water. It contains a range of elements that can be individually downloaded, including audio clips, Flash activities, video clips, worksheets and other documents.

Change the World

Change the World explores inequalities in the world in relation to food, water, shelter, health, education and natural resources. It contains digital images, animations, interactive tools, video clips, worksheets and web links. It supports the Global Inequalities topic in Stage 4 Geography within the Global Change Focus area (4G3).

How eco-friendly are you?

How Eco-friendly are you? explores global geographical issues such as climate change and human rights. It also explores the links between human actions and ecological sustainability on a global scale. It includes aerial and satellite photographs, interactive tools, animations and quizzes. The resource covers the 'Global Issues and the Role of Citizenship' Focus Area (4G4).

Resort Rescue: fresh water use is an interactive student activity looking at management of fresh water issues for a fictional tourist resort. It is freely accessible for students and teachers with a DET Portal log on.
